Cost of Home Schooling?

What is the cost of home schooling? And can you do it threw high school?

Depends on which program you use, and yes you can do homeschooling through high school with certain programs. For example, I am using Penn Foster right now, and its a high school and career school program only, and its an online system and they ship you the books that you have to read to complete the tests they give you. For high school, it only costs under $ 2000, but that's for all 4 grades of high school, and they give all the materials you need. If you are thinking of doing home-schooling for high school grades, you should check into it.

Is she talking about looking for work to do online, or "virtual school"? Many online programs are nothing more than public school done at home. You are subject to all the public school rules and the local school district will get the same money that they would get if she were enrolled in the brick and mortar school. You can develop your own program and the internet can be a wonderful tool, but it does take a lot of research. I did it like that for most of my son's home school career. When you do it like that home school is just about free, all you need to invest in are your basic school supplies, and ink and paper for your printer. You would also need to get anything you would need to do projects. All in all it was much less expensive for our family to home school than it would have been to send our son to the local public school.

Do you know a home school program?

I am currently home schooled through K12 online learning. But inn trying to find a home school program that provides me with a teacher that is physically there with me everyday and teaching me. On K12 you have to teach yourself so I am trying to find one where I will be in the same room with a teacher every day.

I am Using K12 Virtual Academy. I do have teachers online and i can talk to through email and chat. Like i said i already know about online schools. That is what i'm doing now. I have classes and different teachers and live class connects, but i want to be able to sit down with a teacher and everyday and work one on one. I have always learned better being taught. And my mom isn't my learning coach because she isn't the one teaching me. I have teachers, but i cant do the online thing.

I think you may be using a K12 "public school at home" program. This program is an online one that is done via the internet. However, there are private online K12 programs, which are not affiliated with a public school. With these programs, you would have access to a teacher via email, chat, and possibly phone. Information on private K12 programs are below:

The above schools are expensive, with tuition of $5,000+ per year and do not have a teacher who is "physically" there with you everyday teaching you. There are no such homeschooling programs, and homeschooling is usually done by the parents. In some states, it is legal for someone other than a parent to homeschool you–with your parents' permission. Following is information on homeschooling laws:

It would be extremely expensive for your parents to hire a teacher for you, and tutors are quite expensive too. Perhaps a private school option would work and cost about the same as a private K12 option.

Another option would be to get your parents to homeschool you. If they can't and the laws in your state permit it, then perhaps a grandparent, aunt, or older sibling could do it. Some parents who homeschool use a co-op, where their homeschooled children attend classes, usually once or twice a week. The classes are normally taught by other homeschooling parents or by private instructors. Each homeschooling family pays a fee/tuition. However, in between classes, the work is done by the homeschooled student with the assistance of his/her parents.

I hope this is helpful.
